Flexible dieting vs clean eating! What’s better for weight loss?
Flexible dieting VS clean eating! What produces a better physique?!
A new 2021 study in the Journal of International Society of Sports Nutrition compared flexible diets against rigid diets to see what produced the best body composition, weight loss and maintenance.
Participants followed a 10 week diet plan with resistance training included.
After the 10 weeks were completed they found no difference in weight loss, both group lost on average, 6.5 pounds, with the majority of that weight being fat mass.
However, those whom follow rigid diet plans are found to more likely show signs of eating disorders, mood swings and body dysmorphia, along with higher frequency of binge eating, depression and anxiety.
Neither dietary approach is superior for weight loss or body composition, however, long term, you’re more likely to be successful in keeping the weight off and improving mental health with flexible dieting.
