Meal replacement VS food! What’s better for weight loss?!

A new study in the journal of Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics compared low calorie food diets against meal replacement programs to examine what approach results in better weight loss.

The meta analysis gathered data from 2,000 people from age 18-65 that were overweight or obese, consuming pre made foods, shakes and bars or traditional food in a calorie deficit.

Overall, meal replacement programs and diet showed greater weight loss results than traditional low calorie diets.

HOWEVER, it’s important to note this was ONLY because diet adherence was higher in meal replacements as the diet was easier and more convenient to follow.

IT WAS NOT A RESULT OF THE FOOD ITSELF! When calories and adherence is matched, weight loss is the same! This is why the best diet for you to be on, is the one you enjoy and can stick to!
